We stumbled onto the Turon River on the way back from one of our trips to Hill End. A nice little river, a few great little camp sites, easy access off the bitumen and easily reachable via a Friday after work departure from Sydney. It has some old mining shafts and associated history although they aren’t that interesting, a few nice little 4wd tracks and a nice lookout over the surrounding bush. It is smack bang in the middle of quite a few camping areas that we have visited and makes a good base to stop over on the way back from a bigger trip.
