The Navara

The Silver Truck relates to a D40 ST 2015 Navara. This Truck, mind you, is actually Mark 2. That however is another story for another time!

We have built it to be the ulitmate tourer and tow vehicle for the Camper Trailer and any other toys we may come across in the future.

Here is a basic run-down of modifications and after market additions we have made.

Straight off the shop floor, we drove to Brisbane to see John Zordo, a Nissan Suspension Specialist. He put in a 50mm body lift and a 2″ Suspension lift. We went with EFS HD Rear Leafs, Lovells Shocks and Dobinsons Springs. He also fitted after market Upper Control Arms as the factory ones are not adjustable. This now gave room to fit a set of Maxxis MT 285/70/17 tyres onto the factory rims. Adding 2000KMs to the clock mind you in such a short period of time. Was a fun short trip though! We then visited ARB and had a Deluxe Bullbar colour coded and fitted with Fog Lights, a Safari Snorkel, front and rear Lockers and an on-board Air Compressor mounted under the drivers seat.

We then fitted Narva 225 HID Spot Lights, 2 Narva Work lights to the rear roll-bar, a Runva 12,000lb Winch, a 160L long range fuel tank. We removed the muffler and replaced with a straight through 3″ exhaust, done by Shannons Engineering & Design. The removal of the muffler then created the space to put in a 60L water tank, courtesy of Shannon’s Engineering. We also fitted a 55amp Optima blue battery under the chassis, controlled by a Redarc BCDC Charger, which is mounted under the drivers seat. A Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller was also wired in.

Full under body protection was added, then we fitted a GME TX3540 CB matched to a GME AE4705 Antenna, 2 power outlets in the tub, together with a USB Charger.

Lastly we fitted a BedRug Tray-liner to the tub, extended Braided Brakelines, a Diff Breather Kit, a secondary fuel filter and an oil catch can. We threw on some Rhino Sports Roof Racks and mounted a 1.4m Tigerz11 Awning.

We recently added an LED light bar, it was more a want than a need. It has really surprised us in just how good it is. We did a lot of homework and didn’t really think that it would add much to our visibility at night. Our existing Narva HID’s already give us great distance and depth. Anyhow we fitted one and it has totally changed what we see at night, it throws out a massive pure white light that gives a real wide spread. It really highlights the lane markings and makes the road signs incredibly visible, to the point that we think it makes the surroundings more clear travelling at night.

We now swear by it so much that we look forward to every night drive so we can use it.

This covers most of the additions, we do have a full listing with costs and all ancillary items that were required to complete The Truck. We are more than happy to answer or discuss in greater detail, any questions and or queries you may have.
